Surface Preparation >> Prior coating the substrate is to be clean, dry and free from contamination and should be assessed and treated in accordance with ISO 8504:1992. Oil or grease should be completely removed using a suitable solvent. The first coat of PV311-TOP should always be applied over a base coat of PV111-PRIME or PV211-INTER depending on the system being used. The surface should be dry and free from all contamination and PV311-TOP must be applied within the over-coating intervals specified for the base coat (Consult the relevant data sheet) Areas of breakdown, damage etc. should be prepared to the specified standard and patch repaired as appropriate to reinstate the base coat. Application >> Mixing: No mixing of different packs is required. The product is single pack. Agitate PV311 TOP prior to use using a power agitator. Pot life: No short-term pot life as single pack system Airless Spray: Suitable - Tip Range: 516 - 517 - Total output fluid pressure at spray tip not less than: Air Spray: Suitable (Pressure Pot) Brush: Suitable for touch up only Roller: Suitable Thinner: Do not thin Cleaner: Simple detergents Work stoppages: Do not allow material to remain in hoses, guns, spray equipment or brushes. Thoroughly flush all equipment with MEK. Unused clean material maybe returned to the original container. Clean Up: Clean up all equipment after use with MEK. It is good practice to periodically flush out spray equipment during the course of the day. Frequency of cleaning will depend on amount sprayed, temperature, and elapsed time including any delays. All surplus materials and empty containers should be disposed of in accordance with appropriate regional regulations / legislation.
Application over a previously completed system >> Surface Prep: Adjust the extent of surface preparation to reflect the quality of the existing System. If the system is damaged through to the substrate then the area should be re-prepared and the complete system reinstated. Should the system be in good condition the surface should be made free of contaminates and washed with a suitable solvent prior to re-coating. Base coats of PV111-PRIME or PV211-INTER maybe omitted if the surface has not needed to be blasted and the system is in good condition. Reapplication: As per Application.
Product Characteristics >> This product has been developed to perform as a system in conjunction with PV111-PRIME primer. The use of PV111-PRIME is integral to the performance of the complete system; in some cases the use of other primers will give inferior performance. This product has been developed to perform as a system in conjunction with PV211-INTER intermediate coat. Depending on the application the use of PV211-INTER maybe omitted without detriment to the system performance. Refer to your local distributor for advice.
